Unless all the set pics are simply fake, there is not one chance the actual screenshots will look anything like Dragonball.
As for the Japanese, it seems to me that an overwhelming majority of the population’s individually working on a boycott by treating the movie as if it never existed.

I first found out about this movie cause my brother told me, and of course, he never was such a big fan so he didn`t care (actually I think he liked the idea) of a more realistic movie. But that´s the thing, Dragonball (and secuels Z & GT) was not realistic and there was their magic. I definitely don´t want to see Goku going to school, been a wimp, I don´t want to se a Piccoro who is not green, not Bulma with brown hair, I don´t want to see a quick evolution of Goku´s powers (it was a great and long process). So yes, maybe I give to much importance to the series but damn, Dragonball was & still is (cause I still watch it every time I can) one of the greatest things that happend in my childhood, watching Goku grow was great so I will sign every petition, protest in every way I can against this awful movie & if (as it probably will) they still launch it I most definitley wont watch it, I don´t want to destroy my memories.

But how can one compare DragonBall to Sailor Moon?
Honestly, Sailor Moon was just a sentai for girls.
DragonBall, though, it was originally based on the “Journey to the West” story…but had many liberties taken throughout… Like giant monkeys with mouth lasers, or GREEN “demons”.

Why is everyone so worried about this movie?
Many of you speak about losing your memories of dbz or having them destroyed, but it is still posiible to watch them on the internet (vids.myspace shows loads).
Sure, the film might seem different to the original and will almost certainly not be as good, but it may be alright, even if its charm is different to the original. And if it’s that bad-you can always just erase the bitterness by watching the original online.
Watching a movie, no matter how bad, should be so much of a big deal. If these guys release it and you dont watch it, what difference does it make to you? none whatsoever. Let other people watch it, and forget about it. Getting so high-strung over a movie that you dont have to watch is, in my opinion, melodramatic.

Ok listen. The reason many fans are protesting this film is because it is so different to what DBZ really is. The only relations it has to the original series is the names of the characters and the fact there the story revolves around dragonballs, other than that the story has absolutly nothing to do with Dragonball/Z/GT. We don’t want it made because it will ruin the image that the creators of the original have worked so hard to make and replace it with frabricated crap! I mean the title is even off. Dragonball?….there all adults(in the DB LAM)!! in the orginal there KIDS!!! come on! at least get the age rite. If there is to be a movie I think a little research should be done. And build it around the fans….not for people who’ve never even heard of it.

They really should have done this as a CGI movie, like the ff7 movie. But, I am seriously gonna see this in theaters (if it makes it there), and buy the movie no matter how much it suck. Who know they might take another crack at it and get it right. The effect of this movie should be good, plus I think they have pretty much confermed bulma will be waring a wig (teal/green/blue…whatever) and piccolo will be green. And I know most of the people who take the time to sign some petition will end up seeing the movie out of pure curiousity, wether they pay or not is a different story but you will end up checking it out. I think it would be kind of cool to se the new movie. Who knows, it might turn out pretty well. I’ve seen some trailers and some pics on it and the hair that everyone knows and loves probably wouldn’t turn out right in real life at all. The thing I don’t like is that they have to make it sort of in a suburban place while Goku is growing up at a certain point. What happened to the the Kame House? The Nimbus? the TAIL? Oh well. Let’s just see this piece of work when it gets here and know that we’re ready if it is going to be an abomination or if it is going to be a masterpiece(or inbetween).
