ALBOTAS - A Little Bit On The Awesome Side

This is an oldie, but a goody. This is footage from an EVO tournament a few years back. The thing you need to understand about SFIII is the parrying system; like most fighting games, you still gain a small amount of damage in SF games if you block, so that’s where’ parrying comes in. If you’re familiar with fighting games, you know that holding ‘back’ will make your character block. Parrying is like blocking, only in reverse and with no damage- you have to actually tap forward ON TIME with your opponent’s hits. If the opponent does a low attack, you tap ‘forward-down’, if the opponent does a high attack, it’s best to jump up and do a low parry. This is some skillful shit that not just anybody can pull off, but what the dude in this video does is bananas. This makes me sad that there won’t be parrying in SFIV.
