Reminder: “Arcana Heart” Drops Next Week For PS2
Anyone who knows me knows that I love 2D fighting games, so it should come as no surprise that I’ve been waiting for Arcana Heart to come to the states for a while now. I’m also a huge ATLUS fan so that makes it double awesome in my book. From what I can tell by the trailer, it looks like they’ve taken the concept of vertical combat and dashing from Guilty Gear as well as the character movement in general. Guilty Gear characters sort of freeze for a few frames after every hit which makes dial-in combos and juggles a tad easier to pull off than in a game like King of Fighters where things are more fluid and natural, looks like it’ll be the same thing with Arcana, but I’m totally not complaining.
The main gimmick, if you will, with Arcana Heart is it’s all female cast. Aside from being able chose between 11 fighters, you also pick on of 11 Arcana to attach to your fighter for different offensive and defensive skills. You’re essentially picking two characters in one!
The U.S. release includes the regular version of the game as well as a remixed version, arcade mode, story mode, training mode, and unlockable art galleries. Oh yeah, and it’s only $30! You can probably expect this to be one of those games that goes for like $100 used on Ebay a few years down the road, so do yourself the favor and pick up a copy when it drops next Tuesday a.k.a. my 24th birthday (T__T SO OLD!).
