A Little Bit On The Awesome Show: Episode 1 - Jaegerbombs and Soopa Shows

[*UPDATE* PICS FROM THE SHOW CAN BE FOUND HERE]
You didn’t think that Dookie-Poo Soopa was the only footage we’d bring back from the Soopa Show, did you?
Behold! The first ever episode of a little something we like to call A Little Bit On The Awesome Show. These are pretty much going to be longer “on location” videos with interviews, and in future episodes, we’ll be incorporating segments and multiple topics.
In this episode, we hit up Erick Scarecrow and ESC-TOY LTD.’s Soopa Show at Concrete Jungle in NYC. Lots of customs, and an interview with the man himself, Erick Scarecrow.
It was an all around good night; Free Pizza (which Dan ate like a champ) and free wine with LOTS of awesome people. I’d like to make time for hitting up more toy shows in NYC and meeting more awesome people. It was such a great experience. Thanks to everyone we met who thought we were awesome, and special thanks to Erick for being so rad about everything. Enjoy!
p.s.
Keep an eye out for individual pics of all the customs in another post.
*Sidenote:
We wanted to incorporate Shawn Smith and his Shawnimals Plushforms into this one, but due to time constraints and our feet almost falling off, we couldn’t. Look for better, longer shows in the future.

Yaya needs to make me a Niko plush plz

Good job with the video!

Thanks, dude! iMovie + no clue what I was doing = not as bad as I thought it’d be.

Man that would’ve been a cool event to go to. Scarecrow seems like a real fun guy to be around. I know some other designers that are straight dicks.

I have my own on location video for the tenori on event almost ready to go, ill post it next week or later this week. I wana let these video shine

Sweet video footage! Dave (Snafu Comics) and I wanted to head out for the show but after a two long days of working the con heading out of Manhattan seemed like too much work. >_<
Fortunately before the show opened on Friday I was able to pick up a Kissaki (for my girlfriend), two different Dizign’s (one for me, one for my sister), and of course… an orange Soopa Coin-Up Bros. Now I just have to figure out how to decorate it!
[Reply]
Yeah, I’ve had a blank white Soopa sitting in my house for a few weeks an I have NOOO idea what to do with it. One day…
I wanted that super villain DIZIGN and a Kissaki so bad, but my arse was dead broke. T___T

Reminds me a lot of 1UP’s Points series.
[Reply]
Yeah… I won’t lie, we totally ripped it off. It goes like this: Prime was putting together the video for the Montreal Munny show and was like “Hey. You make chiptunes… so make something like Points” so I did. Then I was thinking about how to edit the Awesome Show with minimal iMovie experience (as if iMovie wasn’t limited enough without my limited knowledge!) so I was like “TEXT AND MUSIC A-LA POINTS!!!!”
So yeah… we pretty much bit what they do, not so much to emulate what they’re doing, but moreso because it’s just a REALLY easy way to put together footage and information.
You get +1000 metal points for watching POINTS. It’s good shit.

DUGG!
Also I did notice that part of the video had a tune I remember from the 1up show.
[Reply]
Yeah, the 1upshow tune totally inspired my little ditty. That was actually only the 2nd song I ever made with a Game Boy and it wasn’t too bad… I hope.
Thanks for the Digg!!!

Good show guys, was supposed to make the trip up to NYCC, but my dads 50th surprise b-day party ruin that. Looks like it was a fun trip.
